Valerie from Fidelity National Title shows how powerful a QR Code can be on a business card
QR Codes can be used on a business card in many different ways but Valerie Gonzales from Fidelity National Title shows us how to make a splash. The front of her business card is really sharp with the full color photo and high-quality professional portrait. This is a card that anyone would be proud to hand out.

It is the back of her card however where she really shows her understanding of her market. You see, QR Codes can contain many different kinds of data from website URLs to email addresses to vCards. All of these have their place and can be useful if they fit your target market's needs. But one thing to consider with QR Codes is where your clientelle will view or use the data presented, most of the time it will be on their smart phonne. Those smaller screens are fine for many things but can be less than ideal for conventional websites. (As a side note, if you are sending people to your website from a QR Code you should ask your webmaster about creating a mobile version with a streamlined layout and larger navigation links.)

One thing that smart phones are really good at is displaying video, so Valerie created a 30 second promo video and put it up on YouTube. Now when someone scans the QR Code from her business card they are taken to her short promo video. It is instant gratification for her clientes and serves as a way to build a more personal connection. She quickly and professionally lists her position and qualifications and ends with a warm and personal call to action. You can see the video below...
However you decide to incorporate a QR Code into your business cards the benefits can be great. Just remember these simple tips...
- Be ready to offer tech support to your less tech savvy clients and even give them a link to scanner software if necessary.
- Make sure your content is designed specifically for a smartphone.
- Try to add value for your clients to make scanning the link worth their time.
- Track the traffic to the landing page and even try to fine tune it if you aren't getting the results you want.
